[Book Review] The Three Sisters (The Krampus Chronicles #1) By Sonia Halbach & San Marco Coffee Sugar Plum Berry

thethreesistersthekrampuschronicles1bysoniahalbach_zpsne0rmdw5

The Three Sisters is a wonderfully whimsical and wholly imaginative Christmas tale that starts with the real-life controversy over the authorship of ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas (Clement Clarke Moore versus Henry Livingston) and then spirals into a Christmas Eve adventure that leads the grandchildren of the two authors in question on a not-so-merry, and sometimes scary, chase.

[Book Review] The Dark Victorian: Risen By Elizabeth Watasin & ReAnimator Coffee Foundation Blend

The Dark Victorian is a steampunk paranormal detective series featuring senior agent Jim Dastard, a top hat-wearing talking skull, and his new partner, an artificial ghost named Artifice (Art for short). Both are resurrected criminals who have been given a “second life” working for Prince Albert’s Secret Commission, dedicating their talents to protecting crown and country from supernatural threats.

The Dark Victorian: Risen is the first volume in the series and sees Jim and Art being assigned as partners and working their first case together – a string of gruesome deaths attributed to a rogue re-animator.Read More [Book Review] The Dark Victorian: Risen By Elizabeth Watasin & ReAnimator Coffee Foundation Blend

[Book Review] The Circus Of The Damned By Cornelia Grey & Bean Devil Coffee Co. Oblivion

The Circus Of The Damned is set in a shadowy Victorian-esque world sprinkled with a few steampunk elements (I pictured it with kind of a Tim Burton goes to the circus kind of vibe) and populated with a cast of unique circus performers with unusual abilities, highly organized street thugs, and one frustratingly debonair devil.Read More [Book Review] The Circus Of The Damned By Cornelia Grey & Bean Devil Coffee Co. [Book Review] Noble Metals By L.A. Witt & Heritage Coffee Klondike Blend

I love L.A. Witt books and I love steampunk, so when I saw that L.A. Witt had written a steampunk book I just about squealed with joy (confession – there was actual squealing and maybe even a little chair dancing).

A historical action/adventure romance set in an alternative history that combines steampunk with the Wild West/Gold Rush, Noble Metals is a tale of two men searching for precious noble metals (namely gold and platinum) and discovering an even greater treasure in the love they find within each other’s arms.
