Coffee News

Happy Monday! Some interesting coffee things being discussed in the news this week: Free limited edition Col’ Brew coffee to promote The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, a unique coffee lid shaped like the bottom of a face causes quite a stir, and a company packs half a cup of coffee into a single, chewable gummy bite.

On September 8th, street teams in New York will be passing out free bottles of Stumptown Coffee Roasters cold brew coffee in limited edition bottles to promote and commemorate that evening’s premiere of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Aptly named Col’ Brew, the limited edition bottles feature Colbert’s smiling face on the front and the date and time for the show’s premiere on the back.

South Korean inventor Jang Woo-Seok has created quite a buzz with his unique take on a to-go coffee lid – shaping it like the bottom half of a face, complete with nose and puckering lips. The motivation behind the creation of these polystyrene disposable lids was the designer’s love of both coffee and kisses – he lamented that coffee was easy to come by, but kisses, not so much. By shaping the lid like a pair of puckering lips, he combined his two favorite things into one. While some people find the lids creepy, other’s find them unique and orders are beginning to roll in.

Nootrobox recently launched an Indiegogo campaign for GO CUBES: gummy coffee bites. The small, chewable cubes are made with real cold brew coffee, come in 3 flavors, are packed with a bunch of “cognitive performance” enhancing vitamins, and pack half a cup of coffee per bite.
